Opening the Door

This project began with a dream in which destiny beckoned. In 1995, Elders visited me in the early hours of the morning and debated on how to advise me. A subtle nod of the head revealed the story: Multidimensional travel, meetings and teachings from Spirit Beings, and revelation of the rich tradition of the Dreamer in my culture, submerged for 500 years. In the following years, I wrote a manuscript and then realized a formal investigation was necessary. Pre-Colombian Dreaming became the subject of my doctoral thesis. On the website you will find an outline of this Investigation, some examples of dreams and a brief presentation of the services I offer.

Whether or not you now remember your dreams, you can discover your natural gifts and your life’s purpose. Your dreams will provide you with the means to live your purpose by utilizing the methods of the ancient Dreamers. Developing awareness within the dream state, which the ancients saw as the deeper reality, provides us with the means to awaken within the dream of life, transform our reality, and receive Gifts of Power. These may be revealed as abilities to heal, create Art, Music, Dance, or see the future and the past. In keeping with tradition, these gifts then serve to empower the culture and pave the way for the next seven generations.

I am the Chicana Dreamer. I have practiced these dream traditions for 30 years and have guided many others on the way of self-discovery. I am a psychologist, educator and cultural historian.

My research was published as “The Contemporary Role of the Chicana Dreamer” (El Canto de Tonantzín: Los Sueños de Una Poncha) © 2001, and is available for ordering by email. My book, “Corn Woman Sings,” (c) 2008), makes these ancient Mesoamerican spiritual modalities accessible by providing a narrative of how the Dreamers of ancient Meso America pursued Destiny and Gifts of Power through the Dream Traditions that existed prior to the arrival of the Spaniards.

I attained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Center for Psychological Studies in Albany, CA, (2001); Pupil Personnel Services Credential (1995), and Master of Science in Counseling from San Francisco State University (1985); Bachelor of Arts in History with emphasis in U.S. and Mexican History (1978), at the University of California, Berkeley, CA.

My work has been focused in combining Western psychology with Indigenous Medicine Traditions and how they may be applied together in the modern world. I lecture on culture and education nationally. I am available for consultations on cultural accommodation and other topics on culture to organizations; and privately with curanderas/os, mystics, artists, individuals in medical crisis, and others on Spirituality and Transformation.
